Homes RI officially launched in 2017 as a statewide movement to increase the supply of safe, healthy and affordable homes and decrease the housing cost burden that too many Rhode Islanders face. The Housing Network served as the backbone organization for Homes RI, providing the staffing, fiscal management, and organizational “home” for the effort.
In late 2019, Homes RI released the Housing Opportunities Framework, a plan to increase the production of safe, healthy and affordable homes throughout Rhode Island.
The Housing Network’s new Three-Year Strategic Plan, launched in early 2026, reflects the evolution of our organization. Over the next three years, we will be shifting our role from a member service organization to supporting a broader alliance to advance our priorities.
As part of this plan, HNRI will phase-out the Homes RI brand in order to more directly focus our energy and resources.
