Contracting with the community housing land trust for Monitoring Services
The role of the Monitoring Agent is an important function in the development and preservation of Rhode Island’s affordable housing inventory. As the state’s largest certified Monitoring Agent, the CHLT is currently responsible for stewarding the affordability of more than 500 homeownership units and 150 rental units with hundreds of new homes in pipeline to be developed.
The Community Housing Land Trust of Rhode Island (CHLT) is well positioned to collaborate with you to bring the low and moderate-income component of your development to fruition. Staff possess both the technical knowledge of local planning review processes as well as extensive expertise in the implementation of affordable housing requirements and ongoing compliance. CHLT has the ability to work through your project with you from concept to construction, leveraging positive relationships with municipalities across the state to make the process as streamlined as possible.
Additional services that we have offered developer clients to support their housing development projects have included: education and outreach support for community and abutter meetings, testimony and data presentations to affordable housing commissions, zoning and planning boards, document review and template document prep, troubleshooting and brainstorming, and orientation to subsidy sources and opportunities. Call us today to discuss how we can help you!
The CHLT was recently re-certified as a State Approved Monitoring Agent. Our high quality monitoring services were recognized by the Executive Office of Housing by being the only monitoring agency to receive a three-year certification.
