Our Mission
The Housing Network of Rhode Island is the state’s membership organization for agencies committed to the development of affordable housing and vital communities. Currently comprised of 16 community development corporations and affordable housing developers, our members have created thousands of affordable housing units from Westerly to Woonsocket and are leading community revitalization and economic development efforts across our State. Their wide array of activities – including real estate development, financial asset building, housing counseling, resident empowerment and engagement and much more – create tangible community change and transform the lives of Rhode Islanders.
How We Achieve It
The Housing Network is committed to strengthening our member organizations and to increasing awareness of and support for policies that address Rhode Island’s urgent affordable housing and community economic development needs. The Network achieves its mission by:
- CONVENING our members and allied organizations to secure and share resources, identify and pursue opportunities, and to learn from one another and national partners
- BUILDING CAPACITY amongst our member organizations to address their collective technical and organizational needs
- ADVOCATING for policies and programs to further the development and preservation of affordable housing and economic development of our neighborhoods
- CHAMPIONING our member organizations as critically important partners in future efforts to expand the State’s supply of affordable housing and to advance economic development in our communities.
