The Rhode Island Housing Resources Commission (HRC) was created by legislation in 1998 to be the planning and policy, standards and programs agency for housing issues. The Commission's purpose is to ensure that all Rhode Islanders have access to safe and affordable housing. We are a 27 member Commission, representing a wide range of constituents, from government to providers to advocates.

Rhode Island Historical Preservation and Heritage Commission
The Rhode Island Historical Preservation & Heritage Commission is the state agency for historical preservation and heritage programs. The Commission operates a statewide historical preservation program that identifies and protects historic buildings, districts, structures, and archaeological sites.
The Commission also develops and carries out programs to document and celebrate the rich cultural heritage of Rhode Island's people.

Rhode Island Statewide Planning Program
The Statewide Planning Program is charged with preparing and maintaining plans for the physical, economic, and social development of the state; encouraging their implementation; and coordinating the actions of state, local and federal agencies and private individuals within the framework of the state's development goals and policies. The basic charge is established by Sections 42-11-10 and 12 of the General Laws.
